Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is an Orthopaedic urgent care?
A: Urgent care services include the treatment of fractures, dislocations, sprains and strains. We have on-site x-ray facilities, casting/splinting, and a minor procedures room for laceration repair.
Q: What if I am having a life threatening medical emergency?
A: You will need to call 911. The Orthopaedic urgent care is not designed to treat life threatening medical emergencies.
Q: What type of services will not be provided?
A: Non-Orthopaedic urgent care issues such as chest pain, breathing difficulties, etc. Significant trauma requiring a higher level of care (such as: open fractures, vascular injuries, high energy trauma from car and motorcycle accidents, etc.) No treatment for head injuries or above the neck.
Q: Is the urgent care a 24-hour facility?
A: No. The Fullerton Orthopaedic Urgent Care runs during the normal clinic hours of 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Q: How is an Orthopaedic urgent care different from the emergency room?
A: There are several important differences between the urgent care and an emergency room. The urgent care is not designed to treat severe injuries and is not a 24-hour facility. Due to the smaller scale and patient volume, the urgent care can provide efficient care saving you time and money.
Q: Will my care be covered by insurance?
A: We are contracted provider for all large health plans. Your insurance will be verified at the time of service. Any out of pocket expense will be discussed at the time of service.
Q: What if I do not have out of network benefits?
A: Our financial counselor will assist each patient to determine their best option.
Q: What should I bring?
A: Please bring your current valid insurance ID card. Knowledge of your medical history to include all medications and dosage taken currently is helpful.
